When it comes to matters of your future and role as an employee or employer you must:
DO WHAT’S BEST FOR YOU.
I know that my tribe is full of empathetic and kind women. Sometimes when it comes to making decisions and deciding how you feel about your next steps or just coming to terms with your views on ‘things’ causes you to feel guilt, worry and shame. Your consideration of how your decisions can impact those around you creep in and cloud your mind; ultimately impacting your choices. This can lead into old self-sabotaging habits and cause feelings of regret.
I find a helpful mindset tip is to embrace the ‘must do what’s best for you and your family’ perspective. Here’s why:
Others don’t think about you nearly as much as you think. You’re not doing yourself any favors taking too much stock in other people’s opinions of you. It’s a sneaky little way we subconsciously ‘play small’. Think of a mentor. Someone you look up to or respect for their business savvy and reputation. Say to yourself, “what would ‘so and so’ do in this situation?’ This technique gives you a clearer perspective outside of your own emotions and helps you to see the situation from a different perspective.
Anyone who wouldn’t see that you are making decisions based on what’s best for you are getting their own feelings caught up in it. They are being triggered by their own drama. You may play a part in their drama as an innocent pawn in THEIR journey, but it’s so important to understand that it’s not personal. I know it’s easier said than done! (Hello, empath here!)
But, when I get my mindset right, see the situation clearly and most importantly move forward with loving and well intentioned action, life feels better. I can move through situations with more ease and control my anxiety significantly.
Only you know what’s best for you and your family. No one will have your back or best interests at heart more than you. You’re your own council. You are in control of your life and you and only you make the rules of how you live your life. Outside of abiding by the law and not hurting anyone you are free. Think about that for a moment, I’ll repeat it for effect!
OUTSIDE OF ABIDING BY THE LAW AND NOT HURTING ANYONE YOU ARE FREE TO MAKE YOUR OWN LIFE RULES.
That’s right. So if you want to sit on your balcony at the beach house and read books and write all day then that’s your business. If you want to hustle and climb the corporate ladder and shine like a rock star or anything in between, awesome! Do you! Everyone else is already taken.
Ultimately, you feel a pull inside calling for more. An energy feeling that is begging for you to expand. This is your journey and it should be lived fully. You are worthy of shining the way only you can. Don’t dim your sparkle to appease others. Your light matters. Your ideas and perspectives count for something. The world is a better place because you’re here.
I hope this inspires you to make some mindset shifts and helps you through some work-related decision making.
Love and light to your always,
